Areas Of Practice

CRIMINAL DEFENSE

I have 38 years of experience defending the rights of people who have been arrested and accused of crimes. I handle every type of criminal case, misdemeanors, felonies, domestic violence, stalking, homicide, sex offenses, assault, battery, armed robbery, forgery, theft, shoplifting, drug offenses, and probation violations. I also have extensive experience handling appeals and applications to expunge criminal records.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

Simple battery occurs when the accused intentionally makes physical contact of an insulting or provoking nature or intentionally causes physical harm. This is the most common of the crimes charged under the umbrella of family violence. Too often the allegation of this crime is used by spouses or significant others to position for a divorce or separation. EVEN IF ONE SPOUSE WISHES TO DROP THE CHARGES AGAINST THE OTHER, MOST PROSECUTORS WILL NOT DO IT. A court will take these charges very seriously. A lawyer is typically needed in these types of cases.

FAMILY LAW:

  • Divorces (contested and uncontested)
  • Custody Disputes
  • Modification of Child Support-Custody Disputes
  • Contempt actions to collect unpaid child support and alimony
  • Adoption
  • Prenuptial Agreements

Injuries to crime victims (inadequate security)

If you are a victim of a crime which occurred at a location, which did or should have provided security, you may have a claim against the owner of the property. Hotels, motels, banks, apartments, gated communities, shopping centers and schools are examples of such locations where you have the expectation of being protected by the property owner or manager. This is a very specific area of the law in which I have significant experience.

CIVIL LITIGATION

Contract disputes, injury claims and any other type of lawsuit need to be handled aggressively by an attorney who has experience. In my career, I have represented people and businesses for whom I have provided strategic advice with many years of experience.

ESTATE DISPUTES

Unfortunately, the death of a loved one can be compounded by disagreement as to who should inherit certain assets. These disputes find their way into our court system. I have represented many individuals in this area of law and am familiar with the legal principles and strategy to bring these matters to a successful conclusion.
